Borrowing Books and Renewals
Patrons can borrow library books for set time periods, and these periods differ depending on whether the borrower is a student, faculty member, or staff.
| Category | Number Of Books | Length Of Loan Period |
|---|---|---|
| Students | 10 | 15 Days |
Course Reserves
An instructor may decide to place library materials in a restricted area called “reserve” to make them accessible to students. These materials are borrowed at the Reference and Circulation Desk for up to two hours per day per student. Reserve materials must be used within the library and cannot be taken outside.
Students have access to books tagged as reserve materials through the Reference and Circulation Desk in the Library.
Borrowing Books
Students can borrow up to 10 library books with a loan of 15 days.
Students can bring their chosen books and their student IDs to the Reference and Circulation Desk. Once the borrowing process is complete, the student will receive an email note with the details of the books borrowed and the due date or the borrowing loan period.
Students can access their library accounts at the library portal on the AUIB website. Through the portal, they can view the list of borrowed books and their respective due dates. Students can request a renewal of the loan if the item is not needed by another patron.
When the Library is open, books should be returned to the Reference and Circulation Desk.
Students can access their library accounts at the AUIB Library portal on the AUIB website to place a “recall” for the book that is needed. The current borrower will be notified by email that the loan cannot be extended, and the student will be notified by email once the book is available.
