About AUIB Library
In addition to print books, the library provides access to a variety of e-books, e-videos, e-journals, e-theses, and dissertations. Moreover, the library provides access to many comprehensive and specialized subscribed and open-access databases.
The library selects all library materials carefully and benchmarks them with other university libraries with similar interests in terms of teaching and research resources and services.
The AUIB library continuously evaluates its collections, including print and digital versions, to ensure they are up to date and that they match the latest research interests and the latest publications in any field of study in which the university offers degree programs.
The university library staff is composed of international experts, local staff, and occasionally student employees, all of whom are highly knowledgeable and able to assist library users through in-person or online interactions.
Our Vision
The American University of Iraq-Baghdad Library will fulfill the academic and research needs of the AUIB community, as well as the larger academic community in Iraq as needed, with a strong focus on supporting student learning.
Our Mission
The AUIB Library offers quality information services to AUIB members, national educational institutions, and the Iraqi community at large. The AUIB Library circulates various types of resources in print and digital formats, covering a large selection of subject matter. The AUIB Library provides access to academic and scholarly databases in all areas of instruction at AUIB and offers training in general research techniques and information literacy. The AUIB Library supports digital education skills and encourages the move toward fully digitized liberal arts and academic programs in all AUIB colleges and departments.
