Open Access Collection
The AUIB libraries provide access to a variety of Open Access multidisciplinary and specialized databases. The database librarian regularly reviews the development and enhancement of these databases and ensures access validation. AUIB supports the use of open access databases and applies the same selection criteria used for the subscribed databases. We encourage our community to use these databases to support teaching, studying, researching, assignments and projects writing. Emerald Insight Open Access
Emerald Insight’s aim is to help researchers make their findings open to all, giving them the opportunity to create real impact and drive positive change across the world. EI does this by offering choice and flexibility when it comes to publishing open access. All research published through EI’s open access routes have been through a rigorous peer review process ensuring quality, relevant content. Includes e-books and e-journal articles.
FAOLEX Database (Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations)
FAOLEX is a comprehensive and up-to-date legislative and policy database, one of the world’s largest online repositories of national law, regulations and policies on food, agriculture and natural resources management. Users of FAOLEX have direct access to the abstracts and indexing information about each text, as well as to the full text of the legislation and policies contained in the database.
ICC Legal Tools database
The ICC Legal Tools are the leading information services on international criminal law. They equip users with legal information, digests and an application to work more effectively with core international crimes cases (involving war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide or aggression). The open access Tools comprise the ICC Legal Tools Database (including the ICC Case Law Database), together with legal research and reference tools developed by lawyers with expertise in international criminal law and justice: the ICC Case Matrix, the Elements Digest, and the Means of Proof Digest. Text in these tools or in the ICC Legal Tools Database does not necessarily represent views of the ICC, any of its Organs or any participant in proceedings before the ICC or any of the ICC States Parties.
International Investment Agreements (IIA) Navigator
The International Investment Agreements (IIA) Navigator, developed and maintained by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), is a comprehensive, freely accessible database that catalogs over 3,000 international investment agreements. These include bilateral investment treaties (BITs), multilateral agreements, and investment chapters within free trade agreements. The platform enables users to search and filter agreements by country, regional grouping, treaty type, status, and signature date. It also provides access to the full text of many agreements, often in English, even when the parties are non-English-speaking nations. The IIA Navigator is an essential tool for policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders interested in the legal frameworks governing international investment, offering insights into treaty design and the dynamics of global investment governance.
